The colossus of King Psamtik I was unveiled at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir on 11 April 2018 as part of 4500 fragments, some of which date to the second millennium BC, found at Souq el-Khamis area in Matariya by a joint Egyptian-German archeological mission.
